The Comforter Has Come
We are not martyrs of a hopeless cause whose leader is dead. Our crucified Lord lives! The Son and his Father have sent us the Holy Spirit, who is the third and equal Person of one God.
The Holy Spirit has come to be our constant companion, helper, and comforter in a world where we are often strangers. He reminds us that we are God’s children, and he will never leave us alone. In joy and sadness, in health and sickness, in life and death, the Holy Spirit is beside us.
Jesus Promises the Holy Spirit
John 14: 15-17
Jesus said to his disciples: If you love me, you will do as I command.
Then I will ask the Father to send you the Holy Spirit who will help you and always be with you.
The Spirit will show you what is true. The people of this world cannot accept the Spirit, because they don’t see or know him. But you know the Spirit, who is with you and will keep on living in you.
