Romans 13:6-7
This is why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. Give everyone what you owe him. If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honour, then honour.

Thoughts on Today’s Verse…

Owe! Tax day. Not my favourite, how about yours? But where would we be without government, order and laws? While we may not like how the system functions today, what if we had no system? Let’s be redemptive in our living and obedient in our citizenship.

Let us Pray:

Holy God, I thank you that I am free in you and belong to no man or power. Yet because I want your name to be respected, I pledge to obey the laws of this land as long as they do not run directly in contradiction to your will. At the same time, I fervently pray that you heal our land. Through Jesus I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

Through the transforming power of grace, I am guided, inspired, and healed.

I am thankful for the blessings of this day. Through the transforming power of grace, God provides for me in every needed way, guides me through the day, inspires me to greater understanding, and heals my body.

I am always in the presence of God no matter where I am, so I can and do open my heart and mind to the Holy Presence. As I seek to experience more of the Divine, I know that the spirit of God within is awaiting my recognition and attention.

Any food that sustains me physically, any medical treatment that supports healing, or any structure that protects me from the elements is a reflection of God acting in and through my life. I am guided, inspired, and healed.

“From his fullness we have all received, grace upon grace. The law indeed was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.”—John 1:16-17
