Psalm 95:6-7

Come, let us bow down in worship, let us kneel before the Lord our Maker; for he is our God and we are the people of his pasture, the flock under his care.

What of Today’s Verse…

Worship is more than our heart, soul, and words offered to God. It’s our posture. When we understand the grace he has given us to be called his children, what else can we do but bow down. We come to him as a conquering ruler in full submission, and he chooses to treat us tenderly, like a loving shepherd.

Let us Pray:

Pastor of my soul I come to you seeking your protection and rest as one of your sheep, often harried and driven by life’s pressures and temptations. But I come to you, not demanding, but submitting myself to be used for your glory — not just today, but for the rest of my life. In Jesus I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

Rise above your burdens…

The most senseless burdens are those of our own making. We live for the moment, and disregard the future consequences. We eat too much, exercise too little, and put all sorts of chemicals into our bodies. We let things slip, we fail to follow up. We take shortcuts. It all adds up and brings us down.

Yet, what you get yourself into; you have the power to get out of. There is always hope. The same passion and energy that got you into the mess can get you out. It all depends on your focus. Is it on the next cigarette, or the next century?

Life can be so much more. Taking the easy way out is no way to live. The effort, the commitment, the discipline — they are their own rewards. You cannot consume a great life, you must create it. There is no easy way out, because the effort IS the fulfilment.

Right this moment, you can rise above your self-imposed burdens, just by deciding to do so, and by making the commitment to make a difference, in your own life and the lives of others. Put out the effort, every minute of every day. Life is worth it.
