Psalm 147:10-11

He delighteth not in the strength of the horse: he taketh not pleasure in the legs of a man.
The LORD taketh pleasure in them that fear him, in those that hope in his mercy.

What of Today’s Verse…

Mammon and power are the ruling strongholds of the marketplace. If you possess either of these, those who serve the marketplace in hopes of increasing market share will court you. A competitive environment often gives way to decisions and actions that are dictated by the financial conclusion. A recent newspaper article cited how employers were requiring workers to put more time in at their jobs, often requiring weekend work to be more competitive. For the Christian worker, this brings pressures on the family and will result in “lost market share” in the spiritual realm.

The Lord has a different measuring stick. The Lord is not impressed with your ability or what you can do for Him. There is only one thing that delights Him — people who fear Him and put their hope in his unfailing love. What does it mean to fear God and place our hope in His love? It means we acknowledge that God is the source of all that we are. He is the one that gives us the ability to work, plan and execute. He does not want us to look to our abilities, but His abilities. Sometimes it is difficult to balance these two perspectives. However, if we ask God to show us how to maintain this balance, He will do it. Put your hope in His unfailing love today. Then you will know that your Heavenly Father is looking on you as a proud father.

Words of Wisdom

Harmony…

Divine love radiates from heart to heart in an ever-widening circle of love.

A good start to any day is to ask myself what I can do to create greater harmony in my life. The answer is most likely for me to express gratitude, and I do.

“Thank You, God, for Your love for me and expressing as me.” With these words of gratitude, I focus my thoughts and actions on my inner source of divine love. I set an intention on radiating love and understanding to others and follow through on this intention.

I focus on the love of God within me and within others. From one heart to another, we radiate love that expands in circles that draw other people in. As love reaches out, embracing more and more people, harmony flourishes everywhere.

“The mountains shall depart, and the hills be removed; but my kindness shall not depart from you, neither shall the covenant of my peace be removed, said the LORD that hath mercy on you.” -Isaiah 54:10
