Romans 5:6-8
While we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly. For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

What of Today’s Verse…

Jesus did not die for us because he had some high hopes for who we are or what we would be. No, he died for us because he knew exactly who we are and what we would be without him. Praise be to God; we are now God’s righteousness because Jesus took our sin upon himself and gave us God’s grace and righteousness in its place (2 Corinthians 5:17-21).

Let us Pray:

Holy God, thank you for Jesus, my Saviour. No words are adequate to express my love and devotion to you for such an incredible gift! Through him I give and live my thanks to you. Amen.

Words of Wisdom
Comfort

Divine love is my comfort in an ever—changing world.

Every day I am reminded that things of the world are temporary, but things of the Spirit are eternal. The Earth has changed over the eons, but God is unchanging. God is Life, the essence of life in all. God is Love, encompassing all the love that has ever been.

Turning within I find the constant, eternal love of God is my constant comfort. No matter what happens in the external world, within my heart is a place of peace, untouched. I close my eyes, take a deep cleansing breath and become aware of this quiet place. No matter where I am or what is happening around me, I am comforted by the One Love that is always here.

“Let your steadfast love comfort me according to your promise to your servant.” —Psalm 119:76
