Ephesians 6:12-13
We do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm.

What of Today’s Verse…

How often do your forget that we are in a spiritual war? Our enemy is deceptively cunning – take away the immediacy of a threat and the danger appears gone. But he’s there, always. But rather than try to guess his plans, Paul reminds us to simply take up the tools God has given us and stand up to the evil one.

Let us Pray:

Lord of Hosts, my Great Deliverer, protect me from the evil one by your great power. Give me a sense of urgency as I face Satan and his schemes on a daily basis, but also give me confidence that Jesus has already defeated my foe. Help me to stand against this foe and show myself faithful to you. Through Jesus my Lord and Saviour I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom
Freedom

I am free to choose my path in life.

When facing an unexpected challenge, it’s easy to feel like a victim of circumstance–as though I am moving from the driver’s seat of my life to the passenger’s seat. Instead, I make a conscious choice to get back behind the wheel. I assert my own power in a positive, spiritually centred way.

Through prayer and meditation, I regain control of my life. My emotional strength is renewed, and I feel confident again. I release old habits or relationships that have encumbered me in the past.

The Spirit of God fills my mind, body and soul with the courage I need to move forward. My mind is crystal clear, and I am free to make healthy choices.

“Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.”–2 Corinthians 3:17

The Call to Confession

1 John 5:7-9
For there are three that testify: The Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men, the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son.

Let us Pray:

Most holy and merciful Father, we confess to you and to one another, that we have sinned against you by what we have done, and by what we have left undone. We have not loved you with our whole heart and mind and strength. We have not fully loved our neighbors as ourselves. We have not always had in us the mind of Christ.

You alone know how often we have grieved you by wasting your gifts, by wandering from your ways, by forgetting your love. Forgive us, we pray you, most merciful Father, and free us from our sin. Renew in us the grace and strength of your Holy Spirit, for the sake of Jesus Christ your Son, our Savior, Amen.
