They Said,

Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shall be saved, and thy house.  And if it seems evil unto you to serve the LORD, choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.

Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice: And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

These words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart:  And thou shall teach them diligently unto thy children, and shall talk of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walk by the way, and when thou lay down, and when thou rise up.  Thou shall bind them for a sign upon thine hand, and they shall be as frontlets between thine eyes.  And thou shall write them upon the posts of thy house, and on thy gates.

The Lord shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.  Children’s children are the crown of old men; and the glory of children are their fathers.  Correct thy son and he shall give thee rest; yea, he shall give delight unto thy soul.  And, ye fathers provoke not your children to wrath: but bring them up in the nurture and admonition of the Lord.

“Hope deferred makes the heart sick: but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life.”

A Song of degrees.  Blessed is every one that fears the LORD; that walked in his ways.  For thou shall eat the labour of thine hands: happy shall thou be, and it shall be well with thee.  Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.  Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that fears the LORD.  The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begets a wise child shall have joy of him.
