He that is slow to anger is better than the mighty…

Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:  For the wrath of man worked not the righteousness of God.

A soft answer turns away wrath: but grievous words stir up anger.  The tongue of the wise uses knowledge aright: but the mouth of fools pours out foolishness.

Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.

For, if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:  If thy enemy shall hunger, give him bread to eat; and if he shall thirst, give him water to drink:  For thou shall heap coals of fire upon his head, and the LORD will reward thee.

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place to wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, said the Lord.  He that is slow to wrath is of great understanding: but he that is hasty of spirit exalted folly.  Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger rested in the bosom of fools.  And cease from anger, and forsake wrath: fret not thyself in any wise to do evil.
