This is what the LORD says: Do not go up to fight against your brothers, the Israelites. Go home, every one of you, for this is my doing. So they obeyed the word of the LORD and went home again, as the LORD had ordered.
For this is what the LORD Almighty says: After he has honoured me and has sent me against the nations that have plundered you — for whoever touches you touches the apple of his eye. Since you are precious and honoured in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life.
From the west, men will fear the name of the LORD, and from the rising of the sun, they will revere his glory. He will come like a pent-up flood that the breath of the LORD drives along. [Or When the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the LORD will put him to flight] And my God will meet all your needs according to his glorious riches in Christ Jesus.
In spite of this, you did not trust in the LORD your God, who went ahead of you on your journey, in fire by night and in a cloud by day, to search out places for you to camp and to show you the way you should go.
He was despised and rejected by men, a man of sorrows, and familiar with suffering. Like one from whom men hide their faces he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was upon him, and by his wounds we are healed.
Avoid godless chatter, because those who indulge in it will become more and more ungodly. Their teaching will spread like gangrene. Among them are Hymenaeus and Philetus, who have wandered away from the truth. They say that the resurrection has already taken place, and they destroy the faith of some.
The pain will leave as you learn to see Me in all things.
