Habakkuk 2:1-4

The prophet had a problem with God’s apparent tolerance of the wicked in Chapter 1. In Chapter 2, Gods answer to Habakkuk is simple: “Trust me,” which is a brief summary of verse 4. God often does not explain right away why he does or does not do something. But he claims the right to ask us to trust Him just the same. When all is said and done, we walk in the dark while we live in this world. If we are holding God’s hand, all will be well. That’s “living in faith,” whether for salvation or just driving to work. (See 3:17-20.)

The Lord Answers Habakkuk Again

While standing guard on the watchtower, I waited for the LORD’s answer, before explaining the reason for my complaint. Then the LORD told me: “I will give you my message in the form of a vision. Write it clearly enough to be read at a glance. At the time I have decided, my words will come true. You can trust what I say about the future. It may take a long time, but keep on waiting– it will happen! I, the LORD, refuse to accept anyone who is proud. Only those who live by faith are acceptable to me.”
