Matthew 6:24

“You cannot be the slave of two masters! You will like one more than the other or be more loyal to one than the other. You cannot serve both God and money.”

When Jesus Christ used the word “serve” He used it to reflect it meant total devotion because no one can be devoted entirely to two masters. Due to personal differences, he indeed will be drawn to one more than the other; hence love one and hate the other.

God and mammon or worldly riches are two different masters; you cannot choose both since God demands full devotion to Him, spirit, soul, and body. Jesus Christ said what shall it profit a man if you gain the whole world and lose your soul. It means that if one’s given the opportunity to choose, choose to serve God.

Question, if you have the opportunity to choose between serving God and worldly riches, who or what will you choose?
