1 John 4:9
In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

What of Today’s Verse…

Love is a verb. We can’t say it enough. Love must not only be spoken, but must also be shown. The beginning of love is God. He showed his love in the most sacrificial of ways so we could know our incredible value to him. The price of our adoption was the emptying of heaven of its greatest treasure, God the Son, who is our Savoir.

Let us Pray:

Loving Father, thank you for adopting me into your family, I can never thank you enough or ever repay you for your kindness, but please receive the service of my life today as thanksgiving for your grace and my small way of trying to share the love you have given me. Through my Brother and my Ransom I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

Do What He Says
Believers who build their lives on a solid foundation are like the man whom a reporter found in the aftermath of Hurricane Andrew. Amid the devastation and debris, one house still stood firm on its foundation. The owner was cleaning up when the reporter approached him. “Sir, why is your house the only one still standing?” the reporter asked.

“I built this house myself,” the man replied. “I built it according to the Florida state building code. I was told that a house built according to code could withstand a hurricane. I did, and it did! I suppose no one else around here followed the code.”

If you have built your life on Jesus Christ and His teaching, you will stand when the storms of life hit. If you are not a hearer but a doer of His Word, you will endure. The true Christian—the one who has built his or her life on the right foundation—will stand the test.
