1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour: Whom resist steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

What of Today’s Verse…

Satan is real. He and his power are intended to harm. But rather than spending our time worrying about him, let’s resist him when we are tempted and focus on Jesus. He’s the one who won the big showdown at Calvary, triumphing over Satan. He took Satan’s greatest tool and disarmed it. Now we can resist and Satan will flee.

Let us Pray:

Thank you, Almighty God, for sending Jesus to break Satan’s stranglehold over us. Through the Saviour’s death you have assured me that mine won’t be the end of our relationship, but the beginning of life with you. Today, however, I ask that you help me especially resist Satan’s power over my life in the following ways… Through Jesus I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

Praise God!

I live my life in praise of God from whom all blessings flow.

Whatever we focus our attention on; whatever we praise in any way grows and is nurtured in our lives. Therefore, it is vitally important that we acknowledge our good, no matter how large or small it may seem.

As God’s children, we are richly and unceasingly blessed by God. The beauty of the earth is for each one of us. Flowers bloom for everyone to enjoy. The sun rises and sets for us all. We are here on earth to love and be loved.

Counting our blessings is sage advice that never grows old. The more blessings we look for, the more we find. The more good we open our hearts to, the more good will flow into our lives and the more we will have to share with one another.

God is good, and we are all richly blessed.

“According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.” —Ephesians 1:4
