Psalm 59:16
I will sing of thy power; yea, I will sing aloud of thy mercy in the morning: for thou hast been my defence and refuge in the day of my trouble.

What of Today’s Verse…

So many things in our lives can be stolen away by natural disasters, aging, and death. Satan could be appropriately called "The Thief of Always." But God is immovable and unstealable! We can invest ourselves in him and know our spirits are secure in his care. He is a fortress and a refuge.

Let us Pray:

O Great Rock of my salvation, thank you for being unchangeable and faithful. Thank you for being the source of security and future in a day of chaos and change. Thank you for being God. You are my God and in you I place my life, my hopes, and my future. May you be glorified in me today. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.’

Words of Wisdom

What is too much?

My youngest daughter, who is almost 3 years old, has so many toys in her room that there’s barely room to sit down and play with them. So many as to almost be overwhelming — it’s difficult to really enjoy any of them because all the others get in the way.

As adults we tend to be that way, too. We get involved in so many things, acquire so many material possessions, and spend so much time moving them around, repairing them and paying for them that we can’t even enjoy them.

Sure it’s good to have nice things. But there’s a danger in becoming so oriented toward materialism that we lose sight of the essence of life itself. We get so wrapped up in getting and keeping and maintaining and protecting, that we have no time for doing and sharing and caring and being and enjoying.

Remember that life is not defined by things. That is a very liberating thought because it makes you wealthier than any billionaire.
