Have you experienced the joy of obedience?

Psalm 84:11-12
The LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. O LORD of hosts, blessed is the man that trusted in you. (Jeremiah 7:23) But this thing commanded I them, saying, Obey my voice, and I will be your God, and ye shall be my people: and walk ye in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well unto you.

What of Today’s Verse…

We all live in a web of relationships dependent on obedience to authority. Like a loving parent, God sets standards for our good to protect us from evil and harm. God desires obedience motivated not by fear buy by love and trust. Ironically, obedience actually frees us up to enjoy life as God intended, because it keeps us from becoming entangled or enslaved to those things that distract us and cause us heartache. Even though God’s command is sometimes difficult, or does not make sense from our human perspective, obedience will always bring blessing, joy, and peace.

Words of Wisdom

Exploit your weakness…

It is good to know your strengths, and equally useful to know your weaknesses. For when you understand your weaknesses, when you are willing to admit them and face them, you have identified a powerful path for personal growth.

Look at yourself. What is holding you back? What is keeping you from living the life you want to live? What part of yourself is constantly disappointing you? Be honest with yourself. What is your greatest weakness?

When you know your weakness, you know where to put your effort. After all, if you were great with managing your money, but a lousy public speaker, would it not pay you to put your effort into improving your speaking skills, rather than improving your money managing skills?

We have a tendency to want to do the things we can do well. And, indeed, we must make full use of our gifts. But we also must grow. And that means identifying our weaknesses and working on them.

When you look right at your greatest weakness, and decide to do something about it, suddenly it goes from a liability to an asset. Suddenly you have found a way to be highly effective, to make a major difference in your life.

Your weaknesses are lessons waiting for you to learn.
