1 John 3:16

This is how we know love is: Jesus Christ laid down his life for us. And we ought to lay down our lives for our brothers.

What of Today’s Verse…

What does it mean to lay down our lives for our brothers? Sounds pretty extravagant, but the next verse in 1 John 3 reminds us that most often it’s very simple: if we have a brother or sister in Christ with needs, we give up what we have to fill that need!

Let us Pray:

Lord God Almighty, I am convicted by your sacrifice and ask for eyes to see and grace to act when my brothers and sisters are in need. Through the name of Jesus I ask this. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

As a Spiritual being, I am divine life in expression.

Divine Life…

It is springtime in some regions of Earth. Flowers are once again blooming, and gardens and fields are becoming lush and teaming with life. A cycle of new life and growth continues.

Just as the Earth does, I, too, go through a never-ending cycle of rebirth and renewal. I experience a renewed sense of oneness each time I make a divine connection with God through my time of prayer and meditation.

My inner self is spiritual in nature. Recognizing the perfection that is within me, I give expression to it as faith and hope, wisdom and understanding. I gratefully acknowledge that divine life flows through me, strengthening and revitalizing me.

“God saw everything that he had made, and indeed, it was good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day, Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them.”—Genesis 1:31-2:1
