Deuteronomy 6:6-7
These words, which I command thee this day, shall be in thine heart: And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sit in thine house, and when thou walked by the way, and when thou lies down, and when thou rises up
.

What of Today’s Verse…

We are to begin each day with God. Every breath we take should be a powerful reminder that our Father has granted us another day of life to serve him. Each heartbeat is God’s drumbeat of love, reminding us that we are blessed with another minute to offer him our best. This blessing is so easily forgotten. We best remember these truths when we teach them and show them and live them with and before our children. But, let’s not leave their learning these truths to our example alone. Let’s find teachable moments to explain our faith, to praise our Heavenly Father, and to teach God’s truth.

Let us Pray:

Almighty God, Gracious Sustainer, and Undeserved Friend, thank you! Thank you for this breath I take and for the heartbeat that sustains my life. Make me aware as I travel and talk and rest and work that you are there and are worthy of my intentional best. In the name of Jesus, my gracious sacrifice I pray. Amen.

Words of Wisdom
Service

I thank God for those who dedicate their lives to service.

Through the ages, people have stepped forward and served to make their communities, their homelands and the world a better, safer place. I am in awe of the courage and dedication they have shown. Their sacrifices bless us all.

I deeply appreciate the contribution of those who serve humanity. As part of our world family, I also do my part to promote a better life for all.

My prayers are one way to contribute to the betterment of humankind. Today I take time to honour and bless those who have committed their lives to courageous sacrifice and service to others. I give thanks for them and the significant difference they make in our world.

Now, Israel, what doth the LORD thy God require of thee, but to fear the LORD thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the LORD thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul. –Deuteronomy 10:12
