Temptations
Matthew 4: 1-11
(Mark 1: 12, 13; Luke 4: 1-13)
People have bee tempted since the time of Adam and Eve. Even Jesus was tempted. He, however, fought the devil’s offers and won. Satan’s lie is that he is almighty and we can’t overcome his destructive ways. At times we don’t recognize that our thoughts or actions are being prompted by Satan.
Some of the ways the devil lures us into his trap are over-importance of material things and following false teachings and gods. Jesus knows when we are faced with a tempting situation. And he knows that we can’t fight our battle with sin all alone, so he is with us. We can rely on the Bible to know what is true.
