The Fire of God’s Wrath
Ezekiel 5: 1-17

Ezekiel shaved his hair and beard with a sword and saved it. He burned one-third of the hair in a fire on his model of Jerusalem. He scattered the second third of hair around the play city. The remaining third he scattered in the wind.

Ezekiel told the crowd that had gathered to watch his antics that God was about to do to them what he had done with his hair. Nobody wants to think that God runs out of patience with selfish, violent people; he does, though. Let’s make sure we respond to God better than ancient Israel did.
