Psalm 149:4
For the LORD taketh pleasure in his people: he will beautify the meek with salvation.

What of Today’s Verse…

Jesus, who left heaven and made himself a servant, did so to enable the last to be first, the servant to be greatest, and the least to be best. For ages, the arrogant, abusive and the powerful have found it easy to reject the call of Christ. But those who are humble find him to not only be Saviour, but also Conqueror.

Let us Pray:

Precious Servant, Almighty King, thank you for coming to our world and serving us at great cost and showing us that we can reign with you. I look forward to the day every other knee will join mine as I bow before you as my Lord. Until that day, I pray that you will use me to bless those so often forgotten by our busy and glamour-intoxicated world. Amen.

Words of Wisdom

Joy…
With childlike gladness, I give expression to the joy of Christ within me.

A quiet, inner joy grows within me as I observe and enjoy the spark of gladness in others. I watch them with interest and insight: children whose eyes are filled with hope as they anticipate good, and seniors whose memories add delight to their present experiences. I am encouraged by contemporaries who are eager to join me in the blessings of today and possibilities of tomorrow.

The pureness of this expression reminds me that the joy of the Christ is within us all. This is a joy that is universal because the Christ abides in each person. Remembering the past, celebrating the now moment, and anticipating the future, I am a divine reflection of this joy. With childlike gladness, I give expression to the joy of Christ within me.

“And Jesus, perceiving the thought of their heart, took a child, and set him by him, And said unto them, Whosoever shall receive this child in my name receiveth me: and whosoever shall receive me receiveth him that sent me: for he that is least among you all, the same shall be great.”—Luke 9:47-48
