1 Peter 2:9
But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light.
What of Today’s Verse…
We’ve been picked to be on God’s team, and we were picked first! We have an important role to play in the unfolding of the world’s history. We’re here to declare God’s praises to those who don’t know him so they can find his marvellous light and leave their world of darkness.
Let us Pray:
O Great Light of Eternal Hope, I praise you and thank you for including me in your people. Now move me and empower me to share your Gospel with others so the world might truly know that Jesus is Lord. Through him I pray. Amen.
Words of Wisdom
Faith…
I move forward in faith, knowing I am divinely guided.
If ever I feel as though I lack confidence to make a sound decision or to face what lies ahead, I know it’s time to refresh my faith.
I am spiritually refreshed each time I enter the silence with God. Then I take a moment to look around me. Watching the wondrous world of God’s creation, I am inspired to have greater faith.
I notice how birds fly by faith, knowing they are intuitively guided on their path. I see the faith of adults who have endured challenges, and I know that through their faith they have overcome them. I see trust in the eyes of children who regard the world with wonder and who accept that they are loved and cared for by others. Realizing that others are living so splendidly by faith, I, too, open my heart in faith to God’s blessings.
“And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, LORD, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.” —Psalm 9:10
