When You Feel Condemned…
There is no condemnation now for those who live in union with Christ Jesus. He does not punish us as we deserve or repay us according to our sins and wrongs. As far as the east is from the west, so far does he remove our sins from us. Anyone who is joined to Christ is a new being; the old is gone, the new has come. “I am telling you the truth: those who hear my words and believe in him who sent me have eternal life. They will not be judged, but have already passed from death to life”.
For God did not send his Son into the world to be its judge, but to be its saviour. God said: “I will forgive their sins and will no longer remember their wrongs.” Those who believe in the Son are not judged; but those who do not believe have already been judged, because they have not believed in God’s only Son. And yet, “I am the God who forgives your sins, and I do this because of who I am. I will not hold your sins against you”.
Let the wicked leave their way of life and change their way of thinking. Let them turn to the LORD, our God; he is merciful and quick to forgive. And if we confess our sins to God, he will keep his promise and do what is right: he will forgive us our sins and purify us from all our wrongdoing.
Then I confessed my sins to you; I did not conceal my wrongdoings. I decided to confess them to you, and you forgave all my sins. Happy are those whose sins are forgiven, whose wrongs are pardoned.
So let us come near to God with a sincere heart and a sure faith, with hearts that have been purified from a guilty conscience and with bodies washed with clean water.
