Inner Peace…

In my heart and mind, I know that God is with me as my peace in every circumstance.  On occasion, however, my awareness of this truth may become overshadowed by the confusion or emotions I am experiencing.

You, LORD, give perfect peace to those who keep their purpose firm and put their trust in you.  But now, in union with Christ Jesus you, who used to be far away, have been brought near by the blood of Christ.  For Christ himself has brought us peace by making Jews and Gentiles one people.  With his own body he broke down the wall that separated them and kept them enemies.  And God, our source of peace, will soon crush Satan under your feet.

If I am going through a stressful time, I need to have greater peace.  So rather than focusing on why something has happened, I gain peace by turning within and allowing the grace of our Lord Jesus is with me.  God’s love always supports me.

Put into practice what you learned and received from me, both from my words and from my actions.  And the God who gives us peace will be with you.  The peace that Christ gives is to guide you in the decisions you make; for it is to this peace that God has called you together in the one body.  And be thankful.

God strengthens me and helps me through any troubling time.  As I turn to God for peace and assurance, I am gently reminded that I am never alone.  I am enfolded in love and care of God–now and forever.  The LORD gives strength to his people and blesses them with peace.  “Peace is what I leave with you; it is my own peace that I give you.  I do not give it as the world does.  Do not be worried and upset; do not be afraid.”

“I call to you, LORD; help me now! Listen to me when I call to you.”
