Joel 2:25-27
Locusts are a frightening enemy to farmers in parts of the world. Sometimes they come in swarms that eat up all the crops. Locusts of self-indulgence and wrong desires have eaten up some people’s lives. But as the Lord says earlier in this book, there is still time to return to Him. God will restore those years we have wasted running after other gods. The Lord is glad to multiply the results of our new efforts for Him, because our love for Him is renewed and stronger than ever.
The Lord Will Rescue His People
I will give you back what you lost in the years when swarms of locusts ate your crops. It was I who sent this army against you. Now you will have plenty to eat, and be satisfied. You will praise the LORD your God, who has done wonderful things for you.
My people will never be despised again. Then, Israel, you will know that I am among you and that I, the LORD, am your God and there is no other. My people will never be despised again.
