Jesus Needed Only A Few
Matthew 10: 1-15
(Mark 6:7-13; Luk 9: 1-6)
Many times an army’s success depends more on its discipline than a large number of soldiers. A mob is not an army. Jesus knew he could accomplish his goal with a handful of earnest people. So he chose twelve and he taught them.
We need to be well-informed and disciplined, too. God wants us to know his word. Reading Scripture on a regular basis teaches us what we need to know about God, his kingdom, and his mercy.
