People Reject Jesus
Matthew 11: 20-30
(Luke 10: 13-15)
It is easy to become comfortable with our routines and established traditions. When change comes along, as it usually does, we feel threatened. The people Jesus is addressing had their set traditions. Then Jesus came along with a dynamic message that “threatened” their comfort level.
People who are unhappy are often more open to change. If we are doing well in our lives, we should remind ourselves of our poverty before God. Material wealth will not last forever.
